Robert Poortinga studied in the United States and Italy with renowned musicians including Enrico Pace, Tamara Poddubnaya, and Lukas Hagen. He studied chamber music for five years with Lukas Hagen and Enrico Pace, and received guidance from Trio di Parma, Vladimir Tropp, and Pavel Gililov. His passion for the violin repertoire led to long-term collaborations with many violinists.
