Pianist Matyáš Novák, a member of our free association of artists PETROF Art Family, was the only Czech to participate in the international piano competition in Santander from July 25 to August 5, 2022, which is ranked among the most prestigious by the professional public.
A total of 303 pianists signed up for the competition this year. From these, the organizers invited the best 20 to Santander. Matyáš managed to fight his way into the top 6 finalists from this group of twenty.
As part of the competition, Matyáš performed Piano Concerto No. 1 by Johannes Brahms in the hall of the Festival Palace together with the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra. All the concerts within the competition were broadcast on Spanish state television.
