Dear music friends,
Unfortunately, most international music competitions were canceled or moved to the online world because of the pandemic. The fastest to adapt to the new form of musical contests were the well-known and experienced organizations.
Jan Schulmeister (14) participated in most of these competitions successfully.
He won the first prize in these competitions from February to April:
- Odin International Music Competition, Tallinn, Estonia
- ISCART Music Competition, Lugano, Switzerland
- Orbetello Piano Competition, Italy
The competitions listed above happened in an online form.
In May, Jan won the first prize and two special awards for the best performance of romantic and virtuosic compositions at "The Nordic International Piano Competition," a prestigious competition for children under 15, which took place in Malmö, Sweden.
Forty-eight pianists from fourteen countries participated in the competition. The finale held ten competitors from which 3 won.
The jury consisted of professors from prestigious schools in Finland, Sweden, Poland, Hong Kong, Italy, China, and Canada.
In June, Jan added to his collection a prize for absolute victory at "The International Music Competition," which took place in Stockholm, Sweden.
He won the highest prize of all categories - First Grand Prize Winner.
The jury's evaluation of the participants wrote: "Jan Schulmeister has, with his outstanding technical abilities and enveloping warm tone, has expressed a deep understanding of the music, and the composer in his performance. Aside from his musical abilities, he possesses the qualities that we associate with great musicians."
In addition, Jan released a new CD funded by the PETROF Company in June.
Congratulations Jan, we wish you many achievements in the second half of 2021.
