Dear music friends,

allow us to share great news with you!

The absolute winner of this year's 30th-anniversary edition of the Amadeus International Mozart Competition for young pianists in Brno is Alexander Kothera, a student at the Grammar and Music School of the capital city of Prague.

This young pianist beat the competition of 64 contestants from 12 different countries.

As the general partner of the competition, PETROF provided the prize for the absolute winner, which was an upright piano. In addition, Alexander also received an invitation to a joint performance with the Brno Philharmonic.

Unlike other piano competitions for young talents, Amadeus focuses on classical music, especially the work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This competition thus recalls the historical event when the eleven-year-old Mozart, together with his father and sister, visited Brno during the Christmas holidays in 1767 and gave a successful concert in the Reduta.

You can watch the live recording from this year on YouTube.

Congratulations!
