Moscow event 2010 - PETROF & Daniel Hertz

In February 2010, a great event at the Czech Embassy in Moscow took place. The PETROF Company celebrated its 145th anniversary of founding by a concert with a surprise (concert - recording - playback). Laureates from the Central Musical School in Moscow, students of Prof. Vassily Ermakoff (Maria Andreeva, Anastasija Vorotnaja - winner of the Concertino Praga 2010 competition, Yn A In, Julija Vanushina - all on piano; and Tsoy Se Pel on violin) played compositions by Frederic Chopin and Antonin Dvorak.

PETROF's respected guest Mr. Mark Levinson recorded their play using his unique recording system (you can listen to a part of it below) and played it back at the Daniel Hertz high-end audio system to the audience, which was impressed by a quality of the recordings and by the sound of the audio-system. The speakers for Daniel Hertz are also made by the PETROF company.

"The most important element for me is the emotional impact that happens when a gifted pianist plays a Petrof. In Moscow on February 11th, I saw a whole audience moved to tears by young girls aged 8, 14, and so forth playing Chopin at the Czech Embassy. Even on a laptop PC, you can hear excerpts from the recordings on the Petrof web site, and feel the emotion of the event. It was not only their incredible musicianship, but the tone and vibration of the Petrof piano that touched everyone so deeply. This emotional quality also inspires young people to play more often, and go deeper into the music. I refer especially to the Pasat and Mistral, but the same can be said of any new Petrof piano." - Mark Levinson
